Herb Levitin CEO and President As the founder of Powercom, Herb Levitin began providing voice and data systems integration from his Santa Barbara, California facility in 1989. Within three years Mr. Levitin was recognized as one of the leading independent voice and data experts in the country, and had partnered with AT&T, MCI and Sprint. When the Internet was in its infancy, Mr. Levitin was positioning Powercom as a leading authority on Cisco's router product line. He was also leveraging his electrical engineering background to provide computer grade power equipment to support his network efforts. Mr. Levitin's expertise in these areas led to Powercom's success in designing large-scale wide area networks (WAN's) for Fortune 1000 companies and major Internet Service Providers. By the turn of the century, Powercom had become the area's largest Cisco equipment provider - and the second largest Sprint data sales provider in the nation. With over 13 years experience as a telecommunications agent for major local and long distance carriers and a past member of the Pacific Bell Business council, Mr. Levitin's focus began shifting to the audio conferencing market in 2001. In less than three years, he formed a group of audio conference companies, offering innovative web interfaces, turn-key conferencing business solutions and unique hosting services. Mr. Levitin is an electronic engineer who graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with honors in 1974. |
